Ellen Obenshain
Ellen studied at Carnegie Mellon University where she majored in Civil Engineering and minored in Music Technology. Although she was born and raised in Maryland, she moved to New York City after graduating. There, she spent 5 years with the NYC Department of Environmental Protection, managing projects related to wastewater infrastructure. She worked as part of the NYC Wastewater Resiliency Program, a $400-million program that aims to harden NYC’s wastewater infrastructure against future flood events and sea level rise caused by climate change.
Fun Facts: Ellen can frequently be found in Golden Gate Park walking her dog or riding her bike, which she just recently learned to do. But if she has to stay indoors, she can be found curled up on the couch, surrounded by her rubber duckies, crocheting and sipping tea.
