Clayton Collins

Design Engineer

Clayton was born and raised in Sonoma and Marin counties and has a deep passion for the stewardship of local open space preserves. He earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from San Francisco State University, with a minor in American Indian Studies. With a decade of experience in civil engineering, he has worked on a wide range of residential and commercial projects, specializing in low-impact grading and drainage design as well as septic system testing, design, and permitting. Clayton believes that effective engineering solutions should balance function, longevity, and safety while minimizing environmental disturbance and impact.

Fun Facts: Outside of work, Clayton often escapes to his family property in Mendocino, where he’s building a 20-foot container tiny home as a personal project. When not exploring the outdoors, he enjoys learning to code simple programs on his computer. Clayton also practices hot yoga weekly in an attempt to achieve both literal and figurative balance in his life.
