Clara Hallgarth

Clara recently graduated from Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo with her BS in Environmental Engineering and her MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Passionate about further integrating sustainability into engineering education, her graduate thesis investigated potential methods of modifying university-level engineering curricula to produce more sustainability-minded, reflective, and holistic engineers. Through internships, coursework, and projects, she’s gained experience working on water infrastructure projects ranging from hydrologic modeling for low-impact development features to retrofits and expansions for water treatment facilities. Clara is excited to further develop her skills and support thoughtfully-designed, equitable solutions to water resources challenges alongside her team at Sherwood Design Engineers. 

Fun Facts: Clara grew up travelling and plans to do more, having visited 20 countries so far. She is an avid archer, and enjoys shooting at her local outdoor range on nice days. She loves to learn and try new things, most recently surfing, rollerskating, and birding.
