About this Project
Situated on the edge of the scenic town of St. Helena in Napa Valley, Sherwood helped develop one of the most integrated green building projects in Northern California. This home produces all of its own energy and water through a combined rainwater harvester and energy cave system which functions like a geothermal well for the house’s heating and cooling systems. The home was situated to minimize earthwork and impacts to the existing oak woodlands surrounding the site, and was oriented to minimize heat gain while retaining stunning views of world famous valley. With a green roof, photovoltaic power, solar shading awnings, and evaporative cooling water features, this home provides serenity and comfort while blending perfectly into its natural environment.
