Project: St. Kitts Island Resort

St. Kitts Island Resort

Location: St. Kitts, Carribean

Sherwood designed all civil engineering aspects of this project including roads, siting for homes and facilities,  a sustainable water system and infrastructure on this pristine Caribbean island. The 2,100-acre site lies in an arid region with limited municipal water supply, and no land-based potable water resources. We developed several potential solutions for water harvesting and recycling, and helped determine the feasibility of proposed development scenarios from an ecological and sustainable-building perspective. Our team also developed alternatives for energy generation and distribution throughout this completely self-sufficient site. Additionally, we authored a binding document of Sustainable Development Standards to be used for our project site as well as the entire 5,000-acre peninsula.
