About this Project
In collaboration with MASS Design Group, our staff designed and supervised the construction of an onsite wastewater treatment and disposal system for the first permanent cholera treatment center in Haiti. The wastewater treatment system employs an anaerobic baffled reactor (ABR), a liquid feed chlorine disinfection system, and a vegetated evapotranspiration bed for disposal. The site was very constrained for wastewater management due to limited area and shallow groundwater conditions. As part of the site design process, a rainwater harvesting and treatment system was prepared for the cholera treatment center.
