Atherton Civic Center

The Civic Center Master Plan for the Town of Atherton is designed to preserve some of the town’s signature characteristics while upgrading its central civic facilities to modern standards. This project includes a new public Library, City Hall, and Police Station, requiring extensive site improvements such as realigning two roads to improve pedestrian and vehicular circulation concurrently, all while accommodating existing historic buildings, an adjacent Caltrain station, significant utility infrastructure and dozens of heritage trees. Sherwood provided full civil engineering construction documentation for the implementation of the master plan, including street improvements, grading and drainage, public utility mains and service connections, and an integrated stormwater management design.  In addition, Sherwood worked closely with the Calwater, SFPUC and West Bay Sanitary District agencies to ensure clear alignment around site utilities.

Civil plans integrate stormwater, building, parking and site.
